ClaimsFlow's PDF to ESX platform reconstructs the Xactimate Sketch from your PDF estimate. Now, the full project floor plan – including areas, rooms, walls, doors, windows and stairs – is rebuilt as an editable Sketch project in Xactimate.

Here are a few common questions about how ClaimsFlow's Sketch conversion works, what it supports, and how to check the conversion results in ClaimsFlow's Sketch Viewer before you receive the reconstructed Sketch project.

What types of sketches can be converted to ESX?

Right now, ClaimsFlow converts interior floor plan diagrams that are produced from Xactimate.

Support for exterior roof plans, and floor plan diagrams from other sources, such as architectural PDFs, is coming soon.

What if there's no Sketch diagram on the PDF?

ClaimsFlow currently converts the full floor plan diagram printed at the end of the PDF.

Room-level thumbnail diagrams aren't supported yet, but are coming soon.

Can you convert a multi-story floor plan to an Xactimate Sketch?

Yes. ClaimsFlow converts multi-story floor plans, with each level available in its own Sketch tab in Xactimate.

Can I convert a floor plan without re-scanning the property?

Yes. ClaimsFlow works from the PDF you already have. No on-site capture or re-scan required.

Accuracy

How accurate is PDF to Xactimate Sketch conversion?

ClaimsFlow converts PDF sketches to Xactimate Sketch with 90% accuracy. The platform reconstructs and dimensions project areas, rooms, sub-rooms, doors, windows, stairs, and missing walls.

Because no conversion is perfect, the Sketch Viewer in ClaimsFlow lets you audit the reconstructed Sketch geometry before downloading the ESX. Inspect dimensions, drill into rooms, surface hidden missing walls, and strip away overlapping labels and fixtures to see the underlying structure.

Does it catch missing walls that separate open rooms, like a kitchen from a living room?

Yes. ClaimsFlow's Sketch conversion identifies invisible missing walls on the PDF that separate open spaces. You can move or adjust these “missing walls” as needed once the Sketch is in Xactimate.

Is the converted sketch editable in Xactimate?

Yes. Every converted Sketch is fully editable. Adjust dimensions, move walls, or add missing scope directly in Xactimate.

Do the line items map to the converted sketch, or is it an empty floor plan?

ClaimsFlow maps the original estimate's line items onto the reconstructed rooms, so the converted file opens as a working estimate, rather than an empty floor plan.

Do I need an Xactimate license to use it?

Yes. You'll need an active Xactimate license to open and edit the converted Sketch project.

How long does it take to convert a sketch to Xactimate ESX?
